RJA #2a: Possible Topics
RJA #2b: Research Topic
I have chosen to write about the most efficient setup to achieve maximum velocity on a downhill speed board. I choose this topic for several reasons. It is something that interest me. It will make me more familiar with downhill speed boarding aspects. It gives me the opportunity to put out a paper explaining what is the best setup so people can use the information for their own long boarding use.
I already know that the most efficient setup has a lot to do with air resistance. This includes but is not limited to different types of helmets, leather suits, and stance. There are many different types of helmets that offer different characteristics like vision(for racing) and aerodynamics(for maximum velocity). A suit that is brand new offers less air resistance opposed to one that has taken a few falls.
I am not very familiar with the sport as I just picked it up a few months ago. There are many different types of setups that people choose such as top mount and drop threw. I intend to find out what angle trucks, how they are mounted, are best for maximum velocity.
